About Gas Boilers
CONDENSING BOILERS
The condensing boiler is relatively new to the UK but has been used in Europe for a number of years. All boilers we feature are condensing and meet new Government guidelines on efficiency.
Condensing boilers are the most energy efficient Central Heating boilers on the market today. They recycle the hot gases back into the boiler, making the boiler work less hard so cost you less on your fuel bill. Useful link: The Energy Saving Trust
COMBI BOILERS
The Combination Boiler (Combi) is a very popular boiler in the UK due to its space saving versatility. It doesn’t store any heated water it simply heats your radiators and hot water on demand. This normally means a cost saving but your bath will take a few minutes longer to fill than if you used stored hot water but you shouldn’t see any loss of power with your shower.
With no hot water to store it will free up space in your airing cupboard or loft which are the usual places households place water tanks. A point to remember, if you have no hot water cylinder in your airing cupboard, you might want to consider fitting a small radiator in their to help air your clothes. Combi boilers are normally cheaper to fit.
CONVENTIONAL BOILER
A non Combi boiler tends to be referred to as a Conventional boiler. Conventional boilers heat your radiators and hot water via a storage unit (cylinder). The main advantages to this system is your hot water tends to be delivered at mains pressure.
